1. Can a woman breast-feed after breast augmentation?

Yes, a woman can breast feed after breast augmentation.


2. Is it true that there is usually no loss of sense of touch of the nipples?

Usually there is no loss of sense of touch of the nipples, if there is it will be 10% or less.


3. Can implants achieve some lifting of sagging breasts?

Very minimal lift only, greater degrees of ptosis(sag) would require surgical lifting or mastopexy.


4. What about getting insurance to pay for the breast augmentation?

Insurance does not pay for breast augmentation.


5. Will my breast implants feel like natural breasts?

Yes, typically the feel is normal although if capsule or scar is formed to a significant extent the breast may feel firm.


6. What is the difference between breast implants placed under the pectoralis muscle and implants placed under it?

A different tissue layer, slightly more pain initially although implant ripples are diminished under the muscle and most surgeons feel that the breasts stay softer with the overlying muscle massage action.


7. Will smoking affect my recovery?

Smoking can alter wound healing and lung function and should ideally be stopped several weeks before and several weeks after the procedure.
